Dustin’s practice involves advising businesses clients across a wide array of industries. Dustin’s client’s are involved in resource development, banking, gaming, professional services, technology and other sectors. Dustin has particular expertise in advising clients who are buying or selling a business, completing a financing, and dealing with regulatory compliance matters. Dustin also has extensive experience structuring and advising limited partnerships.
In his real estate law practice, Dustin assists clients and referral partners with all aspects of their real estate legal needs. Dustin advises on purchases and sales of houses and condominiums, and mortgage refinancings. Dustin also advises commercial landlords, property managers and commercial tenants in respect of commercial leasing matters.
Prior to forming Down & Company PC (formerly known as Scott & Down LLP), Dustin worked for a number of years with Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, one of Canada’s largest business law firms. Prior to starting his legal career, Dustin owned and operated a community newspaper business in British Columbia.
Dustin obtained his law degree from the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University and his Bachelor of Arts from the Kings University College.
